Juliet (India)
Victor Juliet was born in south India and attended school and college in Tuticorin. She has a bachelor degree in science and a certificate in food catering. She loves China very much and came to China in 2002. Her hobbies are cooking and making friends. She thinks,"Good Teaching is more an asking right questions than a giving of right answers."
Linda Zhu (China) Linda was born in Fengshun county, Guangdong province. She graduated from Guangdong Foreign Languages Normal School majored in English and has a great love for and interest in the language. She has been an English teacher in Wanzai Middle School, Zhuhai for four years and has experience working in some companies. Linda likes to listen to music, reading, badminton and meeting people.
Rose Talang ( Philippines )
Rose was born and raised in the Philippines . She graduated with a Bachelor of Secondary Education degree with a major in English. She started teaching upon graduation in the Philippines and eventually in China . She loves to share knowledge with others. She is a cheerful person with much patience in dealing with different types of people/students. She lives the saying " Smile and the world smiles with you."
Dulce Bacuetes ( Philippines )
Dulce served as a part-time University teacher and a full-time Guidance Counselor in the Philippines before coming to China . She finds teaching a magnificent and excellent profession to impart knowledge to other people. Dulce holds a BA degree and some MA units in School Psychology which had help her to fully understand the nature and attitudes of her students.
Maggie Li ( China )
Maggie majored in Chinese Language and Literature and is a TEFL graduate. She is currently working on a degree in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Maggie has been employed with GLV for over two years in the AA department and was the AA Coordinator for over one year. She is now serving as an EPT. Her interests are dancing, music, travel and foreign cultures.
Adam Sinnott ( USA )
Adam was raised in Georgia U.S.A. He attended Warren Wilson College in Asheville , North Carolina and majored in Art. After school, he did many jobs from life guarding to landscaping so that he could save money to come to China . He is a TEFL graduate who enjoys sharing knowledge. His hobbies are swimming, martial arts, studying art, history, political science and philosophy. He also enjoys camping , hiking, and traveling and plans to stay in China for a long time , learning more about the country, and its fascinating culture.
Deepti Bhasin ( India )
Deepti was born in New Delhi but did her initial schooling from American international school, Manila . She did her English honours from Delhi University and further pursued her MBA in finance. She has worked in Hong Kong, New Delhi , South Africa , Botswana and China at different establishments. She has worked for 3 years in Delhi and Africa as a business manager and planner. She is extremely skillful when it comes to business or finance. She is an excellent cook and can prepare mouth watering Indian dishes within few minutes. She loves China and would like to learn Chinese language. According to her, teaching is all about positive interaction with students. She thinks that GLV approach towards English learning is absolutely unique.
Mohan Dwivedi ( India )
Mohan was born in the famous city of Bollywood , Bombay , now known as Mumbai. He spent his childhood in Lagos and London . He did his schooling in Nigeria , England and India . He got his Degree in English (First class with distinction) from Banaras Hindu University , which is Asia 's biggest residential university. He also holds a first class Diploma with distinction in System Management from APTECH, City & Guilds English certificate from England , and even, a certificate in child minding. He has taught English at various levels in England , Mongolia , Russia , China and Poland . This is his 11th visit to China . His most difficult job was based in Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar which is the coldest capital in the world. He loves surfing the net and gathering information on a wide variety of subjects. He hopes to serve Chinese students for a long time. He appreciates that GLV recognize people for their knowledge and not for their colour or nationality.
Phillip Queen ( USA )
Phillip Queen was born and raised in North Carolina , USA . He is a TEFL graduate and received a B.A. in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Warren Wilson College. He has worked on an organic garden, in an archaeology lab, and with a wholesale distributor of Chinese herbs and acupuncture supplies. He enjoys exploring new cultures and spiritual traditions, holistic healing, the martial arts, and places of natural beauty. He hopes to give students a fresh outlook on learning and a new way of thinking about a progressive and peaceful global community.
Ann Cruz ( Philippine)
Ann comes from the Philippines and has a Bachelor of Science in Education, major in General Science and minor in English. She's a licensed teacher and passed a qualifying exam to teach in Texas, USA. Her experiences include teaching children and adults in the Philippines, Hong Kong and China. She believes teaching is the most challenging profession and says, "I am happy to be a part of the development of English in China and impart whatever knowledge I have."
Collis Rost ( USA )
Collis Rost has lived in Kenya , India , the U.S.A, Russia , and Switzerland . He has a degree in mathematics from Grinnell College in the United States , and has worked internationally in the fields of education and teacher training for over a decade. He has also worked as a teacher of English as a second language. He has given training in teaching methods, classroom discipline and management, character building, Peace Education, Environmental Education, Cooperative Learning and cooperative games. He looks forward to learning about the Chinese education systems and contributing to the enhancement of GLV's programs.
Kathrina Chan ( Philippines )
Kathrina Chan (APPLE) is from the Philippines . She has a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Santo Tomas . She loves to travel and still wants to explore the world. She believes that more important than fame, wealth, or knowledge is the ability to laugh at yourself and enjoy the pursuit of your dreams.
Girlie Dayap Caluag ( Philippines )
Girlie has a Bachelor of Arts degree, Major in English. She has 33 units in Master of Arts in Education, Major in English and Literature. She had been teaching English, Philippine Literature, and Afro-Asian Literature for eight years in the Philippines .Her experience as a teacher in both primary and secondary schools has been meaningful. She likes to share her knowledge with students and also learn from them at the same time.Her goal is to help Chinese people use the English language as a useful communication tool and uphold GLV's philosophy.
Joanna Ida Gusiew(Poland)
Joanna comes from Warsaw, Poland where she majored in TEFL at Warsaw University. She lived and worked in Poland, the USA, and Sweden. She has been teaching English in China since 2002. Joanna loves traveling and discovering the world. She has plenty of other interests such as: sports, mountains, dance, music, and reading. Joanna feels Asia is where she will spend her life.
Mark Lee ( England )
Mark Lee is from south England and was educated in Portsmouth and Bristol . After completing his schooling he moved to various places around the UK in search of different careers, from labourer to management. A passion for teaching and the Asian culture started in Bangkok where he began working with deaf and mute children of Thailand . Sign Language is a hobby he still pursues today. In his free time he enjoys scuba diving, logic puzzles and I.T. His aim for GLV and China is to make a positive difference to as many lives as possible.
Richard Wang ( China )
Richard comes from Wutai Mountain , Shanxi Province. Faith and perseverance are the most important parts of his personality. He became committed to becoming an educator early in senior high school because of the hardship he faced while studying. He worked for some foreign companies in Beijing and TEDA Tianjin, and taught English in primary and middle school in Linfen , Shanxi before coming to GLV in 2004. He has also successfully tutored a lot of students. Richard considers GLV his home away from home. Teaching is his dream work. His greatest hope is to use his passion for teaching and 20 years experience of learning English to help students realize their own dreams.
Lily Li ( China )
Lily Li was born in Hangzhou , and is a Software Engineering graduate of Zhejiang University . She has worked in China Construction Bank as a System Administrator and in a private enterprise as an Office Manager. She has various interests and is always curious in new things. As a non native English speaker, she understands Chinese students' difficulties in studying English and she hopes that her kindness and patience can be of great help to them. She loves movies, reading, traveling and being with friends.
