The Evening Schedule (Electives, Workshops and Evening Programs)
The evening schedule consists of Electives and Workshops in the afternoon and the Evening Programs including Level 1 to 4 Activities, Discussion Corners, and Club Programs. The evening activities bring students and teachers together to share an exciting blend of educational and cultural programs encouraging students to use English and build their confidence. The goal is to offer the best possible environment for students to enhance their communication skills. It's every one's responsibility to maintain this environment and improve it whenever possible, making use of feedback from students and providing activities that can be useful and beneficial for students of every level.The maximum number for the electives and workshops is 25 students.
AFTERNOON: LEARNING WITH ENGLISH (ELECTIVES AND WORKSHOPS)

Electives |
Electives are the 2-hour period (1:30- 3:30) on Tuesdays and Thursdays [and on Wednesdays for Levels 5 - 8]. Students in levels 3 - 8 have the opportunity to choose the class they wish to take based on the topics from a list given to them by their teacher on the first Monday morning. Levels 1 and 2 students are assigned a class. The purpose of an elective class is to impart knowledge to the students. |
Workshops |
Workshops are the 1-hour period from 4 - 5 pm from Tuesdays to Thursdays and on second Mondays. The purpose of workshops is to give the students a chance to use their English in an active and stimulating environment. |
EVENING: REAL-WORLD ENGLISH(Evening Programs)

Description |
Program 1 |
Lecture type but should also encourage student interaction; designed for students to learn new things about a specific topic; to share information (oral and listening improvement) and gain knowledge (vocabulary building). These programs are suited for higher level students, at least level 5 and above. |
Program 2 |
Audiovisual type (DVD, VCR, Projector, TV): TV Programs and Movies are geared towards the improvement of comprehension, listening skills and vocabulary building. |
Discussion Corners |
Talk about general, day-to-day issues by means of an informal conversation. The teacher provides a topic, and facilitates discussion by keeping a lively interaction among students and ensuring that all students are engaged. The goal is to maximize students' talking time. This is a cultural exchange. |
Skills Building |
These programs are designed specifically for students interested in focusing on very specific aspects of their language skills, such as pronunciation, vocabulary, etc. |
Level 1 to 4 Activities |
Taking into consideration the limited knowledge of English of entry-level (1 - 4) students, a special program is designed for their progress. The evening's entry level classes focus on listening, speaking and general discussion. |
