My experience as a TEFL student at GLV has been very wonderful and exciting. Before I came to GLV at Zhuhai, I thought I was simply attending a 4-week course that would be filled with easy classes with just enough information to pass my final exam and that I would get just a small taste of the Chinese culture and people. Instead I am pleased that the classes have been full of challenging, interesting and relevant information that have helped me gain an insight into the learning experience of my future students. There is an excellent future as teaching the TEFL students a variety of methods to make learning English effective as well as fun and inspiring. I am very inspired that GLV focuses so much on this because learning a new language is very intermediating and difficult. GLV creates a fantastic atmosphere condusive for the English learning students to develop their English. I do enjoy the weekly discussion corner with the GLV students because I learn a lot about the Chinese students and their thoughts, ideas and dreams. I have also talked with many GLV students during our meal times and during off class times and got the chance to gain insight into their English learning experiences and reason, for learning English. Taking the course in Shuhai, china adds to my understanding of the serious need for good English teachers to teach good English skills to many non-English speaking Chinese. This experience has inspired me to be part of an opportunity to help educate the Chinese in developing their English skills while maintaining their rich and ancient culture.
